Pink. Blush. Rose. Petal. Musk...It has certainly had its moment over the last few years but the obsession with pink shows no signs of fading. And that's for good reason. There is something a little wild about adding pink to your interiors, it's both chic and playful and it certainly signals that you like to have fun.
Historically, there have been a number of pink shades that have been popular interior choices, particularly in the Victorian, 1920's and 1950's eras. Think plaster pink, coral pink and candy pink. And who can forget the rather insipid ice-pink walls and lipstick of the 1980's?
Fast forward to 2023 and pink has hit the big time all over again, thanks to Greta Gerwig's Barbie movie. We're only just coming down from what has been a bubblegum pink Barbie Dreamhouse landslide.
If you need more convincing that this super pretty colour doesn't have to be reserved for kids' spaces Noni Reginato wrote for Vogue;
"If you’re feeling bold, you’ve percolated on it and you’re ready to submerge your home in any and every shade of pink, a champagne pink bathroom tile might be up your alley, or a watermelon-flecked marble slab for a kitchen island could do the trick. Regardless of which end of the spectrum you fall, there’s a pink colour scheme for everyone... From pink walls in the living room to pink-accented powder rooms, these interiors brimming with pink décor will be the only convincing you need to go pinkandgo home"
